Yesterday, and with the attendance of more than 3,000 health practitioners, SCFHS concluded its 2nd International Conference which lasted for 3 days from April 11th till yesterday evening. The Conference was opened by the Deputy Minister of Health for Planning and Development Dr. Mohammad AL-Khushaim and attended by a large number of trainees from all over the Kingdom; who received 21 credit hours of continuous medical education through the workshops and events of the Conference, along with the participation of finest spokespersons to benefit from this gathering and exchange expertise in medical training field. Moreover, 28 local and international educational institutions offering post-graduate programs in various health specialties participated in the accompanying fair; including royal collages in Europe and North America, as well as the French Program and a number of local training centers providing training for the Saudi Board Certificate programs. SCFHS organized this fair in order to give trainees and interns the opportunity to meet these parties and learn about their programs. SCFHS also organized meetings with a number of royal colleges to discuss the possibility of cooperating in the area of training and admit Saudi trainees to their programs. Mr. Abdullah Al-Zhayyan said: "SCFHS has assigned 21 credit hours of continuous medical education for this Conference" and Added: "SCFHS currently oversees 76 post-graduate specialties including general, secondary and primary health specialties providing training to 7369 male and female physicians; which meets the Kingdom's main needs of highly qualified and trained staff in all areas of health care through 18 scientific councils and 58 specialized scientific committee comprising 1,600 members representing all health sectors in the Kingdom". Mr. Al-Zhayyan also stated that there are 189 training centers throughout the Kingdom.
