The Saudi Specialty Certificate is considered as the highest degree in the specialty field and is professionally equivalent to Doctorate (PhD.) degree in one of the health specialties.

Acquiring such certificate requires successfully passing the preliminary examination for the certificate during the training and successfully completing the specified specialty training programme, the period of which is determined by the Scientific Board for the said specialty.

The Professional Classification aims at evaluating the abilities and efficiency of the Health Practitioner and authenticating his qualifications to determine the appropriate professional Grade and status compatible to his qualifications and efficiency at the time of evaluation.
The Professional Classification also aims at eliminating those who are proved to be unqualified to practice safe health profession in the Kingdom in accordance with the responsibilities of the Commission stipulated in paragraphs (7) & (11) of article [2] of the Law of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.

Health Institutes Department

The Health Institutes Department Undertakes the supervision on the application of the

The Health Institutes Department Undertakes the supervision on the application of the private health institutes and health centers regulations and ensures that all health institutes and centers abide by these regulations, instructions, and decisions issued in this respect. The department also issues the rules and procedures governing the supervision of the Department and its branches in the regions on the examinations held by the private health institutes and health centers.
The Department is the body concerned in the Commission to receive applications to obtain licenses for establishing private health institutes and health centers, or applications to introduce amendments addition to Programmes of existing specialties. The Department studies such applications and on the light of development requirements and labor market give the appropriate decision.
